Global Conduct began as an idea in early 2006 by Lisa Redmond. She wanted to seek out the highest quality handcrafted goods directly from the producers with an emphasis on quality and fair trade principles. Ten years later, in April 2016, the business moved to Sydney.
Gai, who runs Global Conduct, continues the vision of promoting fair trade options to customers and changing the way we shop and ensure we know the story and the person behind the product.
The range includes textiles, bags, fashion, jewellery and giftware, made in and supporting artisan groups from India, Nepal, Cambodia, Vietnam, Thailand and Australia.
The basic philosophies of Global Conduct are based on the Ten Principles of Fair Trade. For example, the producer groups Global Conduct partners with, receive realistic and fair prices. Global Conduct pays 50% in advance for their orders, so that their suppliers have sufficient funds to cover the raw materials and other needs during production.
